Laura's Top 5 Twangfest 2006 Moments
(feel free to make a list of your own!)
1. the Dirtbombs

2. Hungover (ok just me, I won't speak for anyone else) 2 p.m. breakfast at Wild Bill's on Saturday. Michelle "can we get some more water please?" Waitress "maybe I should just bring you a hose." Kiki "did she just call us hos?!?" ... and also "ready to order?" Scott "can we have a few more minutes?" waitress "Ok ... I guess I'll go clean something."

3. Grand Champeen. I MUST learn to pace myself, can't believe I went to bed while they were playing. That lead singer is soooooooooooo freaking cute, and those covers they were playing was kinda like a little fantasy of a private concert come true.

4. the Bottle Rockets

5. Black Thorn pizza. Worth the wait.

Bonus Track: Twangpin.

Michelle, Kiki, Marcus, Bill and all, thanks for including me. I'll be back (with more energy) next year.

Michelle's Top 5 Twangfest X Moments:

1. The Dirtbombs - Definitely! I'll say it again...Dirty Rock & Roll.

2. Finally speaking to Mic Harrison - I was always too shy at all those Superdrag shows.

3. "Breakfast" at Uncle Bill's - I haven't laughed that much or that hard since the ride home from the Okkervil River show in Chicago last November with Kiki and Pete.

4. Grand Champeen - especially finding out that I'm not the only one who knows the lyrics to Billy Joel's "You May Be Right". Oh, and getting to hear my favorite Grand Champeen song..."The Sound That Made My Year".

5. The Bottle Rockets - "Mountain To Climb", singing backing vocals with Kiki on "I Quit", "Indianapolis", and Cheap Trick's "Surrender".

Funny how I had to move away from St Louis to attend Twangfest.
Thanks to Bill, Kiki, and Marcus for including me and to Laura for joining us.
